Richard LaSalle

Richard LaSalle (born January 18, 1918 in Louisville , Colorado , † April 5, 2015 in Carmel-by-the-Sea , California ) was an American film composer.

After studying at the University of Colorado, LaSalle began his musical career in the 1940s, initially as a hotel pianist, including five years at the Plaza Hotel in New York , and later as the leader of a big band. 1958 began his career as a film composer, in which his long-term collaboration with the producer Irwin Allen was particularly significant. For him he set episodes of the television series Lost Between Alien Worlds and Planet of the Giants as well as a number of television films such as City Beneath the Sea (1971). In addition, LaSalle composed for feature films with Vincent Price ( Diary of a Murderer and The Poison of Evil ) and set a number of westerns with Audie Murphy , including Arizona Raiders .
