Land of the Giants is an American science fiction - television series . The series was broadcast from September 22, 1968 to March 22, 1970 on the US broadcaster ABC . The first season consisted of 26 episodes, the second season 25 episodes.

action

When the passenger spaceship Spindrift is on a space flight from Los Angeles to London, it gets caught in a storm and deviates from its intended course due to an instrument failure. It is approaching a planet that looks very similar to Earth and has to make an emergency landing here, severely damaging the spindrift. To their great surprise, the astronauts discover that this is not the earth, but the planet of the giants. The huge inhabitants are twelve times the size of the people. The stranded include Captain Steve Burton, copilot Dan Erickson, stewardess Betty Hamilton and the passengers, actress Valerie Scott, engineer Mark Wilson, criminal Alexander B. Fitzhugh and twelve-year-old orphan boy Barry Lockridge with his dog Chipper. When trying to make their spaceship airworthy again in order to leave the planet as quickly as possible, the crew members are disturbed by oversized children and gigantic insects, and the huge inhabitants of the alien planet try to capture the spacemen as test objects. Since the residents are not as technically advanced as the people, the totalitarian government of the giants offered a reward to the space travelers to fathom modern technology. In the period that followed, the stranded experience various adventures on the planet and repeatedly find themselves in the most hair-raising situations.
