At 9 o'clock the earth goes under (Original title: City Beneath the Sea ) is an American television film directed by Irwin Allen from 1971 with Stuart Whitman in the leading role. The science fiction film was the station NBC on 25 January 1971 as a TV movie of the week broadcast (Movie of the Week) for the first time and was intended as a pilot for a possible television series that has not been implemented. The film opened in German cinemas on July 16, 1971.

Severe earthquakes in the United States in 2053. In the underwater city Pacifica, which was designed by Admiral Matthews, the gold reserves and the fissile material of the Landes are to be stored. When a meteorite threatens the city, Admiral Matthews orders the evacuation of the facility, which his brother wants to use to steal the gold.
