Jonathan Harris

Jonathan Harris (born November 6, 1914 in Bronx , New York - † November 3, 2002 in Encino , Los Angeles , California ), actually Jonathan Daniel Charasuchin , was an American actor and voice actor .

Life

Harris officially changed his last name to Harris in 1932 at the age of 17. He attended Fordham University and graduated in pharmacy in 1936.

He then played in various theaters before he got his first engagement on Broadway in 1942 . A few years later he played one of the leading roles in A Flag Is Born alongside Marlon Brando . From 1949 he also worked for television. He had guest appearances on various television shows and series such as Peter Gunn , Bonanza , Zorro and Twilight Zone . Between 1959 and 1965 he played in 73 episodes in on the film The Third Man -based series The Third Man . From 1965 to 1968 he played the role of Dr. Zachary Smith in the series Lost Between Alien Worlds . He had his last leading role in a series in 1977 in The Space Academy .

Harris retired from acting in the late 1970s and began working as a voice actor. One of his first speaking roles was the Cylon Lucifer on Battlestar Galactica . Harris worked frequently for Disney and was involved in two Pixar productions in 1998 with The Big Crawling and Toy Story 2 .
