action

The only main character is the overweight private detective Frank Cannon , played by William Conrad , who specializes in criminal cases. The former policeman is well paid for his investigations, which he always carries out single-handedly: he lives in a spacious apartment in Los Angeles and drives a Lincoln . The Barnaby Jones series was started as a spin-off in 1973 , and crossover appearances often followed .

Broadcast Notes

In Germany, the ARD showed only 45 episodes of the series from 1973 to 1977. Almost all the other episodes ran from 1988 to 1990 on Sat.1 . The 90-minute pilot film The Sting in the Wasp's Nest was first broadcast on April 28, 1990 by ZDF . The first complete broadcast of Cannon on German television took place from 1993 to 1995 on VOX . The German dubbing voices of William Conrad are Günter Strack (45 ARD episodes) and Michael Chevalier in the series and Helmut Krauss in the pilot.

criticism

"Whether it's dinning with one of his clients or convicting a murderer, Cannon always cuts a fine figure and proves that his rounded shapes don't stand in the way of intelligence and ingenuity."
