Ed Bernard (born July 4, 1939 in Philadelphia , Pennsylvania ) is an American actor .

Life

Bernard began his career in theater , starring in the 1969 off-Broadway production Five on the Black Hand Side . He made his debut on the big screen in 1970 with a small role in the blaxploitation - cult film Shaft . In 1972 he was Blaxploitationfilm road to the afterlife alongside Anthony Quinn and Yaphet Kotto to see and had a cameo appearance in the comedy thriller The Hot Rock by Peter Yates . During his career, Bernard did not play major feature film roles; Worth mentioning are his portrayal of Sgt.
