Life

Yates began his career as a film editor and assistant director , while also working as a theater director. In 1962 he directed his first feature film with the musical Summer Holiday .

After small directorial work in Great Britain (including for the television series Simon Templar with Roger Moore ), Yates moved to the USA in 1967.
