Four Weird Birds is an American crime comedy from 1972. The screenplay is based on a novel by Donald E. Westlake .

action

John Archibald Dortmunder and his people are commissioned by a politician to steal a valuable gemstone. The stone in a museum once belonged to the politician's people.

Gang members make numerous mistakes in executing the plan. Then one of the gangsters, Greenberg, swallows the diamond when he is arrested. His father later finds the hidden stone and deposits it in a bank compartment, from which Dortmund takes the stone. In the end, he smiles and gets into the car in which his accomplices are waiting.

  • Roger Ebert in the " Chicago Sun-Times " (April 18, 1972): The film authors are far from having made a perfect heist movie . However, two or three scenes would be good enough for any film in the genre.
