Rüthnick is a municipality in the Ostprignitz-Ruppin district in Brandenburg . It is administered by the Office Lindow (Mark) .
geography
Rüthnick is located in the eastern part of the Ostprignitz-Ruppin district between Neuruppin and Kremmen . To the east lies the Rüthnicker Heide forest area .

history
Rüthnick was first mentioned in 1422, the name at that time was "Ruthenicke". The original Slavic name goes back to Ruda, which means lawn iron stone , which was found in the vicinity of the place. Around 1490, Rüthnick was part of the Ruppin rule, which was essentially imperial, under the rule of the Counts of Lindow-Ruppin . From 1422 to 1541 Rüthnick belonged to the Lindow Monastery , then to the offices of Lindow and Alt Ruppin (1541 to 1656). From 1656 to 1834 the place belonged to the Oranienburg office , then again to the Alt Ruppin office until 1872.
In 1954 a type III LPG named "Hope" was formed. In 1960 LPG Type I was founded with the name "Sandeck".
Rüthnick has belonged to the Ruppin rule since the 14th century, to the Ruppin district in the Mark Brandenburg since 1524 and to the Neuruppin district in the GDR district of Potsdam from 1952 . Since 1993 Rüthnick has been in the Ostprignitz-Ruppin district in Brandenburg.
