Stüdenitz-Schönermark is a municipality in the Ostprignitz-Ruppin district in Brandenburg . It belongs to the Neustadt (Dosse) office based in the city of the same name .

geography

The municipality of Stüdenitz-Schönermark is located in the northwest of the state of Brandenburg. The municipality borders the municipality of Breddin in the west, the city of Kyritz in the north and the municipality of Zernitz-Lohm in the east and south . The border in the north to the area of the city of Kyritz also forms the border of the Neustadt (Dosse) office.

Community structure

The community is divided into the inhabited parts of Schönermark and Stüdenitz and the residential area Charlottenhöhe.

history

There are two variants for the origin of the place name of Stüdenitz: If the place name had a Slavic origin, it would go back to “Studenec”, which roughly means “source, well”. If it comes from Germanic, “Stude” would have to be translated with mare, and “itz” with “graze, graze”. According to this variant, Stüdenitz would mean “mare pasture”.

Large parts of the Lohmer and Kyritzer Straße from Stüdenitz fell victim to a village fire on August 30, 1866.

Schönermark and Stüdenitz belonged to the Ostprignitz district in the Mark Brandenburg until 1952 . In 1952, both were incorporated into the newly formed Kyritz district in the GDR district of Potsdam . Since 1993 they have been in the Ostprignitz-Ruppin district in Brandenburg.

The community was created on December 31, 2001 from the voluntary amalgamation of the previously independent communities Schönermark and Stüdenitz.
