Temnitzquell is a municipality in the Ostprignitz-Ruppin district in Brandenburg . It is administered by the Temnitz Office.
geography
The community is located approx. 15 km northwest of the district town Neuruppin and 70 km from Berlin . South of the district Katerbow is the approximately 2 km long Katerbower See , which is one of the foothills of the Mecklenburg Lake District .

history
Katerbow and Rägelin belonged to the Ruppin rule since the 14th century and to the Ruppin district in the Mark Brandenburg since 1524 . Netzeband used to be an exclave of the Grand Duchy of Mecklenburg-Schwerin and the southernmost municipality in Mecklenburg. Until 1937 the place was an enclave within the Prussian province of Brandenburg . It was transferred from Mecklenburg to Prussia in 1937 .
From 1952 the places belonged to the Neuruppin district in the GDR district of Potsdam . Since 1993 they have been in the Ostprignitz-Ruppin district in Brandenburg.
The Temnitzquell community was created on December 30, 1997 through the voluntary amalgamation of the previously independent communities Katerbow, Netzeband and Rägelin.

traffic
The community is located on the main road L 18 between Herzsprung and Neuruppin . The A 24 Berlin- Hamburg motorway runs through the municipality. It is about 10 km to the Herzsprung junction .
The Netzeband stop is on the Wittstock / Dosse – Neuruppin railway line . It is served by the regional express line RE 6 Wittenberge - Berlin Gesundbrunnen , the Prignitz Express .
