geography

Märkisch Linden is located on the Ruppiner Platte , about 4 km west of the district town of Neuruppin .

Community structure

According to its main statute, the community is divided into the districts

  • Darritz-Wahlendorf with the residential areas Charlottenhof, Darritz, Darritz-Expansion, St. Jürgen, Wahlendorf, Woltersdorf and Woltersdorfbaum
  • Gottberg
  • Kränzlin with the residential areas Meierei, Schäferei and Siegmundshof
  • Werder

The modern desert of Dossmannsofen and the medieval village of Lindow are located in the municipality .

history

The current districts of the community have belonged to the Ruppin rule since the 14th century, to the Ruppin district in the Mark Brandenburg since 1524 and to the Neuruppin district in the GDR district of Potsdam from 1952 . Since 1993 the places have been in the Ostprignitz-Ruppin district of Brandenburg.

The municipality of Märkisch Linden was created on December 30, 1997 from the voluntary amalgamation of the previously independent municipalities of Darritz-Wahlendorf, Gottberg, Kränzlin and Werder. The history of the municipality is thus essentially the history of the individual parts of the village and municipality.
