Schönermark (Stüdenitz-Schönermark)

Schönermark is a district of the municipality of Stüdenitz-Schönermark in the Ostprignitz-Ruppin district in Brandenburg .

Schönermark lies on the edge of a glacial valley on an elevation. Schönermark is divided into the core village of Schönermark and the former Vorwerk Charlottenhöh. Charlottenhöh has the status of a residential area and consists of five houses.

history

The landscape in which today's Schönermark lies was settled before the beginning of the era. This is attested by excavations from the Bronze Age. At the beginning of the era, Germanic tribes lived in the Ostprignitz area . Migration increased in the 4th century. The Germanic tribes moved west. From the eastern areas, the Slavs moved to the abandoned area. Before colonization by the Germans in the 12th century, huge forests covered the ground. The German settlement took place over a longer period of time and was completed around 1300.

Until December 30, 2001, Schönermark was an independent municipality in the Kyritz district . In the course of the municipal reform in Brandenburg, the municipality of Schönermark merged with the neighboring municipality of Stüdenitz to form the new municipality of Stüdenitz-Schönermark after a referendum. The new community belongs to the Neustadt (Dosse) office .

In December 2018, the Heimatverein was able to inaugurate the repaired village community center. The conversion costs amounted to EUR 200,000.
