Rudolf Rüthnick

Rudolf Rüthnick (born May 6, 1928 in Köslin ) is a former German politician ( SED ). As General Forester, he was Deputy Minister for Agriculture, Forestry and Food Management in the GDR .

Life

Rüthnick, son of an insurance inspector, visited the elementary and middle school and was in 1944 as naval auxiliaries to the army moved in. In 1945 he was taken prisoner by the US .

After the war he worked as a sawmill worker and trained as a forester from 1945 to 1947 . In 1946 Rüthnick joined the SPD and became a member of the SED in the same year. In 1947/1948 he studied at the technical school for forestry in Eberswalde , passed his forester examination and in 1951 his district forester examination. From 1949 he was clerk and from December 1951 deputy head and from 1952, in succession to Erich Gärtner, head of the main forestry department in the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry of the Brandenburg state government. From 1952 to 1955 he was head of the administration of state forestry operations in the Potsdam district , and from 1956 to 1960 head of the forestry subdivision at the Potsdam District Council. From 1960 to 1963 he acted as chairman of the council of the Nauen district . In 1961 he completed a correspondence course at the party college "Karl Marx" as a graduate social scientist. From 1964 to 1972 he worked as general director of the VVB forestry in Potsdam and, as Oberstlandforstmeister, was deputy head of the State Committee for Forestry at the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Food Management of the GDR from 1972 to 1975. From 1972 he was also a member of the Advisory Board for Environmental Protection of the GDR Council of Ministers . From 1975 to May 1990 he was general forester, head of the forestry department and deputy minister for agriculture, forestry and food management in the GDR and deputy head of the GDR's highest hunting authority.

From 1978 to 1990 Rüthnick was also a member of the Presidential Council of the Kulturbund der DDR (KB). From 1980 to 1990 he was deputy chairman of the Society for Nature and Environment in KB.
