history
Rüthnick Architects developed from Elisabeth Rüthnick's architectural office, which she founded in Berlin in May 1989 before the fall of the Berlin Wall . Elisabeth Rüthnick has been running the office together with Wolfgang Planitzer since 1995. In its 30-year history, the office has planned numerous projects in Berlin and Brandenburg as well as abroad. New buildings and existing construction measures are carried out for public and private clients in the areas of residential and commercial buildings, cultural, administrative and government buildings as well as construction for the German armed forces, with high security requirements. Planning and construction tasks for the conversion, expansion and modernization of existing buildings under monument protection also form an essential part of the work of the office. An interdisciplinary team develops concepts and drafts, processes implementation plans and accompanies all projects through to completion.

The spectrum of work ranges from architecture and urban planning to many years of experience in monument protection . The style of the office is characterized by a compact construction that playfully deals with the architecture but still conveys a clarity and makes a consistent concept visible. Today's architect should be creative, have visions, question conventions, abstract and be able to process the environment intellectually. The user comes first: first the social contacts, then the urban spaces and then the individual buildings.
