Gianni Agus
Gianni Agus (actually Giovanni Battista Agus , born August 17, 1917 in Cagliari , † March 5, 1994 in Rome ) was an Italian actor .
Life
Agus graduated in Handelsfachwirt and then pursued his pursued already in his Sardinian home movie interests professionally at the Experimental Center of Cinematography , which he left in 1938 with financial statements. In the same year he began working with the actors of Marisa Merlini and Renato Cialente and made his film debut with a role in Carmine Gallone's Giuseppe Verdi . After the Second World War he was the partner of numerous comedians such as Totò , Erminio Macario , Renato Rascel and Wanda Osiris in revues and musical comedies ( Al Grande Hotel1949, Sogno di una notte di questa estate 1950, Gran baraonda 1952) and began a career as a supporting and character actor in film in 1949. He was active in numerous roles until his death.
Agus was also among the first to appear on television in 1954; also here mostly in operettas and comedies that have been adapted for the new medium. At the Sanremo Festival in 1958 he appeared as a moderator. He was married to the Austrian soubrette Lilo Weibel since 1952 . Obituaries called Agus the "perfect cue-maker".
