Marisa Merlini

Marisa Merlini (born August 6, 1923 in Rome , † July 27, 2008 there ) was an Italian actress .

Career

Merlini began her acting career at the age of 17 at the Teatro Valle in Rome and made her feature film debut with a supporting role in Mario Mattòli's drama Stasera niente di nuovo . She has stood in front of the camera in over 150 cinema and television productions, mainly comedies , and shot with famous Italian filmmakers such as Mario Monicelli ( Totò cerca casa , 1949) or Luigi Comencini ( L'imperatore di Capri , 1949; Bread, Love and Fantasy , 1953). She celebrated one of her greatest successes by winning the Nastro d'Argento for the supporting role of Margherita Pozzi in Antonio Racioppi's holiday comedy Tempo di villeggiatura (1956). Another nomination for Nastro and David di Donatello earned her the part of the girlish grandmother in her last movie, Pupi Avati's comedy La seconda notte di nozze .
