Antonio Racioppi (* 1925 in Rome ; † September 26, 2013 there ) was an Italian film director and screenwriter .

Life

Racioppi graduated from the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia in 1951 (after graduating in law ) in directing and initially devoted himself to short and documentary films. In 1956 he presented his feature film debut Tenpo di villegguiatura , under the overall direction of Luigi Zamnpa . Despite the popular and critical success of this debut, Racioppi made comparatively few and little more than average films of various genres, which only met with moderate public interest. From 1967 to 1972 he also wrote a handful of screenplays for other directors. Erotic motifs were a constant in his work.

There are also plays by Racioppi, who occasionally accepted engagements as a theater director. Between 1962 and 1971 he was only connected to the stage, staging six of his own plays.
