Carole Ann Klonarides

Carole Ann Klonarides (* 1951 in Washington, DC ) is an American curator , professor and video artist .

life and work

Klonarides was born in 1951 and received a bachelor's degree from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond . From 1972 to 1973 she was a participant in the Whitney Museum Independent Study Program and graduated from the New School for Social Research with a Masters in 1983 . From 1983 to 1987 she directed the Baskerville Watson Gallery in New York. She is currently a curator at the Santa Monica Museum of Art in California and a professor at the University of California, Los Angeles .

Klonarides has been working with Michael Owen since 1980 under the name MICA-TV . You shoot video portraits in collaboration with Cindy Sherman , Richard Prince , Laurie Simmons and other artists.

In 1987, Carol Ann Klonarides and Lyn Blumenthal exhibited the work Arcade at documenta 8 in Kassel. In 1988 the film Cascade / Vertical Landscapes was made in collaboration with Dan Graham , Dike Blair and Christian Marclay .
