Even killers have to die (alternative title TV: The secret of the black hand , original title: La mano nera ) is an Italian crime film from 1973 by Antonio Racioppi about the Italian-American policeman Joseph "Joe" Petrosino , who in New York City is the so-called " Black Hand ”fought.

action

The Sicilian emigrant Antonio falls into the clutches of the mafia in the USA , which terrifies their compatriots in New York City . With silent approval, Tonio kills the murderer of his best friend Salvatore after he was murdered by a protection money collector. Tonio is then accepted into the "family" to which he is even more tied through the hushed up murder. He falls in love with the alleged professional named Angela and saves her from a club career, but thereby violates the rules of the family. The air is getting thinner and thinner for Antonio and his lover. Lieutenant Joseph Petrosino is also getting more and more troubled by the organization.
