David di Donatello

Initially, the cultural association Open Gate Club was responsible , then to this day the duck David di Donatello dell ' Accademia del Cinema Italiano , which is supported by the national associations of the entertainment industry and the film industry.
The model for David di Donatello was the Oscar at the time . This is still reflected today in the fact that the Italian film prize is awarded primarily for national productions and foreign films and international actors are also honored. Most of the categories in which a prize is awarded are comparable to the Oscar. The international awards represent a special feature. In addition, special prizes are repeatedly awarded for the life's work of individual people, e.g. B. Golden plate .
As a trophy, the winners will receive a scaled down version of the David statue, which the Italian sculptor Donatello created around 1440 .
