Weimar Republic

Emergency money of one million marks from 1923
- January 2nd : Conference on the reparations payments to be made by the Weimar Republic
- January 10th : Lithuanian irregulars occupy the Memelland, which is under French administration .
- January 11th : In the conflict over the German reparations payments , French and Belgian troops begin to occupy the Ruhr area .
- February 16 : With the Juvenile Court Act (RJGG) drafted by Gustav Radbruch , a separate juvenile criminal law is introduced in Germany for the first time .
- February 25th : The existence of the micronation Free State Bottleneck is ended by French troops .
- August 11 : Germany stops delivering reparations.

- August 13 : Gustav Stresemann ( DVP ) becomes the new Chancellor.
- August 30th : Martial inauguration of the aviation memorial on the Wasserkuppe in the Rhön by the Ring der Flieger e. V. .

- October 23 : The former Bavarian Prime Minister Johannes Hoffmann and some Social Democrats agree to found an independent Palatinate state within the German Empire. The proposal met with rejection from the civil service and the parties. The Palatinate social democracy also distances itself from Hoffmann.
