Robert "Bobby" Brown (born March 19, 1923 in Dunipace , Stirlingshire , † January 15, 2020 ) was a Scottish football player and coach.

Life

In 1939, at the age of 16, the goalkeeper played his first game for FC Queen's Park . Brown was put in the position of goalkeeper for the following two seasons, but was drafted into the Fleet Air Arm during World War II in 1941 and served as a pilot.

Brown played in several military clubs during the war and finally made his debut for the Scottish national team in the 1946 friendly against Belgium . In 1946 he moved to the Glasgow Rangers , where he spent his most successful time. In 1956 he had a brief stint at FC Falkirk before moving to Brockville in the same year, where he ended his career in 1958 at the age of 35.

In 1958 he took over the coaching position at FC St. Johnstone . In 1967 he became team manager for the Scottish national team. Four years later he resigned and retired from the football business.
