Alfred Aubert

Alfred Aubert (born September 3, 1859 in Saint-George , † December 18, 1923 in Rolle , resident in Saint-George) was a Swiss politician ( FDP ).

biography

After professional and linguistic training in German-speaking Switzerland , Aubert took over his father's farm and business. From 1899 he was master of the chair of the Constance Lodge in Aubonne .

As a representative of the FDP he had a seat in the municipal council of Saint-George and was from 1889 to 1901 in the Grand Council of the Canton of Vaud . In 1900 he was elected to the Council of States , but had to resign after only one year, as he was promoted to commandant of the 1st military district. In 1916 he became a lieutenant colonel . He was also President of the Association of Swiss District Commanders and was a representative of the state in the synod of the regional church .

He was a member of the bank council of the Crédit foncier vaudois from 1914 until his death. During his time in 1919 the Société des autotransports du pied du Jura was founded.
