Harold Gould
Harold Gould (born Harold V. Goldstein ; born December 10, 1923 in Schenectady , New York , † September 11, 2010 in Woodland Hills , California ) was an American actor .
Life
Gould served in the American Army during World War II . He then studied at the University at Albany . Gould's best known role was that of Martin Morgenstern in the television series Rhoda as the father of Rhoda Morgenstern , played by Valerie Harper . Gould left the series at an early stage; After his departure, the character continued to be present in terms of content without appearing personally.
Gould had a prominent supporting role as Kid Twist in 1973 in the film The Clou alongside Paul Newman and Robert Redford . In 1977 he played Henry Kissinger as Carl Tessler in the Watergate mini-series Washington: Behind Closed Doors .
In the 1980s, Gould played the character of Miles Webber in the television series Golden Girls and also appeared in the follow-up series Golden Palace .
