Heijmans NV is one of the three largest construction companies in the Netherlands . In 2015, the group had around 6,800 employees.

The company, which was founded in 1923 and whose shares were listed on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange AEX , has no central headquarters, but many branches spread across the Netherlands and Belgium . It is one of the most important civil engineering companies in the Benelux countries. But it also builds apartments, office and factory buildings, hospitals, etc., all over Western Europe.

After the failed takeover of the entire German business from the American Holzmann subsidiary Jones, Heijmans bought Franki Grundbau, a civil engineering specialist, from the company's insolvency administrator in 2002.

On November 30, 2006, a subsidiary of Heijmans NV took over essential business areas (building construction west, traffic route construction, civil engineering and construction logistics) of the Oevermann Group in Münster. In March 2017, Heijmans announced that it would sell Oevermann to the Porr Group . The sale was completed on April 21, 2017.
