  • 1848 : The Prussian King Friedrich Wilhelm IV rejects the resignation of Prime Minister Ernst von Pfuel despite his opposition to the draft constitution.
  • 1856 : Chinese officials board the Arrow lying in Hong Kong harbor and arrest the crew of the ship sailing under the British flag on suspicion of piracy, smuggling and the opium trade.   • 1871 : The Great Chicago Fire breaks out and lasts until October 10th. Almost the whole city burned down.
  • 1871 : Peshtigo in the US state of Wisconsin becomes a victim of flames along with several surrounding villages. The forest fire, which killed the most in US history, kills at least 1,200 people and destroys an area of ​​approximately 6,000 km² .
