Andrea Lanzl (born October 8, 1987 in Starnberg ) is a German ice hockey player who has been active again in the women's ice hockey Bundesliga for ERC Ingolstadt since 2017 . She is also a member of the German women's national team and the Bundeswehr's sports promotion group.

Career

Lanzl's passion for ice hockey was awakened early on by her siblings. With her big sister Michaela she played in the attack of the German national team for many years . At the age of 18, Corporal Andrea Lanzl was one of the youngest in the national team.

As a junior she played for the male junior teams of TuS Geretsried , from 2001 in parallel for the women's team of SC Riessersee in the women's ice hockey Bundesliga and between 2005 and 2017 for the juniors of the Düsseldorfer EG , with whom she became German champion in the 2004/05 season . From 2004 she played for the women's team at EC Bergkamen . In 2008 Lanzl was banned for three months because of several violations of the reporting requirements of the National Anti-Doping Agency .

In the 2012/13 season Lanzl played for ESC Planegg , with which she became German champion for the second time in her career in 2013, before moving to ERC Ingolstadt before the following season , where she was one of the top performers in the following years. In February 2017 she was looking for a new challenge and switched to Linköpings HC in the Svenska damhockeyligan (SDHL). She returned to the ERC for the following season.

International

At the age of 14, Andrea Lanzl made her debut on March 7, 2002 at a tournament in Gap against the Czech Republic for the German women's national team .

With the national team, she took part in a large number of other international tournaments, including the Air Canada Cup in 2004, 2005 and 2006. There were also twelve World Championships and two Winter Olympic Games by 2019.

By 2017 Lanzl had completed 271 international matches.

At the 4-nation tournament in Füssen in December 2019, Lanzl completed her 321st appearance for the German women's national team. She is the new record holder and replaced Bettina Evers (319 internationals) as a (female) record national player. At the beginning of February 2020 she completed her 322nd international match, overtaking Udo Kießling (321 internationals) and is thus the sole record national player.
