The 2012/13 season was the 25th edition of the women's ice hockey Bundesliga in Germany . The league was carried out by the German Ice Hockey Federation . The season began with its first day of play on September 24, 2012 and ended on March 10, 2013.

As in the previous season, the Bundesliga clubs initially play a double round . The winner of the double round will be the German champion. The previous three-point rule will be retained, so that if you win in regular time, the winner receives three points and the loser receives no point at all. In the event of a tie after regular time, both teams will each receive one point. The winner of the subsequent penalty shootout receives an additional point. A request from the OSC Berlin to host a play-off tournament for the championship instead of the cup tournament at the end of the main round was rejected.

Due to the low number of participants of 6 teams in the preseason , there was no relegation from the Bundesliga. In contrast, the ERC Ingolstadt women's team was promoted to the Bundesliga, so that it starts with seven participants.
