The SC Garmisch-Partenkirchen is a women's ice hockey club from Garmisch-Partenkirchen , which played in the women's ice hockey Bundesliga .

history

In 1986, a women's ice hockey team was founded at TuS Geretsried , which took part in the Bavarian State League until 1991 and was promoted to the Bundesliga in the 1990/91 season . The team qualified as Moskitos Geretsried every year until 2000 for participation in the German Championship , which they won for the first and so far only time in the 1993/94 season . From 1999 to 2001 the club was three times German runner-up in a row.

In 2001 the team moved to Garmisch-Partenkirchen and was accepted into the SC Riessersee . Due to the move, the team initially had to play out of competition in the Bundesliga. 2002 was followed by the forced relegation to the Bayern League, from which the team returned to the Bundesliga after one season. In May 2010 the team founded the independent club SC Garmisch-Partenkirchen women's ice hockey . After the 2015/16 season had started, the club withdrew its team from play in February 2016.
