The women's ice hockey Bundesliga season 1988/89 was the first season of the women's Bundesliga in Germany. The finalists of the last finals in the preseason were again in the final - Mannheimer ERC and EHC Eisbären Düsseldorf  - but this time the team from EHC Eisbären Düsseldorf won and won the first title within the women's ice hockey Bundesliga and at the same time the fourth German championship title overall.
