Hermann Leeb

Hermann Leeb (born October 15, 1938 in Aschaffenburg ) is a German lawyer and former politician ( Christian Social Union (CSU)).

Hermann Leeb's parents were Hermann Leeb and Fränze Leeb geb. Brüggemann. His father was a lawyer and from 1948 to April 1952 he was the second mayor of the city of Aschaffenburg.

Hermann Leeb is married and has two children.

Life path

Hermann Leeb attended Humanist High School in Aschaffenburg, where he passed his Abitur in 1958. This was followed by a seven-semester law degree at the universities of Frankfurt am Main , Freiburg im Breisgau and Würzburg . In 1962 he passed his legal traineeship exam. From 1962 to 1967 he did a traineeship at Lower Franconian courts and administrative authorities. Hermann Leeb has been admitted to the bar at the District and Regional Court of Aschaffenburg and the Higher Regional Court of Bamberg since 1967. Before joining the Bavarian Cabinet, he worked in the family's own law firm in Aschaffenburg.

He has been a member of the CSU since 1958. At that time he was also the district chairman of the Aschaffenburg-Stadt district association and deputy district chairman of the CSU Lower Franconia. From 1987 to 1990 Leeb was deputy chairman of the CSU parliamentary group.

Leeb was a member of the Bavarian State Parliament from 1970 to 2003 . From 1990 to 1993 he was State Secretary in the State Ministry for Education and Culture, Science and Art, for the field of teaching and culture. From June 1993 to October 1998 Hermann Leeb held the post of State Minister of Justice in Bavaria .

Since 1999, Hermann Leeb has been working as a lawyer in the Leeb & Leeb law firm again.

He is not a member of the Bavarian Constitutional Court , a member of the Catholic student associations K.St.V. Julius Echter Würzburg, K.St.V. Brisgovia Freiburg and Staufia-Frankfurt in the KV .
