After the pond in Sickendorf was no longer available, a move to Lauterbach was planned.

Ice rink

The area of the pond in Steinigsgrund was converted into a natural ice stadium in 1963. After planning for an artificial ice stadium began in 1964, implementation dragged on until 1970, when construction work finally began in August. During the 2008/09 season the stadium was closed after an inspection due to damage to the roof structure. In autumn 2012, after the necessary renovation work had been completed by EC Lauterbach , which was founded at the beginning of 2012 and was supposed to take over the stadium from the Lauterbach public utility, the stadium should start operating again. On November 13, 2012, the hall was reopened after several years of vacancy.
