In contrast to the previous season , the Regionalliga was played in three regional groups - South, South-West and North-West.

In the group

• South was first carried out a preliminary round with 10 teams as a single round. Then the first five teams played the promotion group and the last five teams the relegation group ;
• North / West was played a preliminary round with 9 teams as a single round;
• Süd-West first played two preliminary round groups with 6 teams each in a single round and then a final round with the best three of the preliminary round groups followed
