In earlier times the nickname was " Teutons ". The women's team played in the Bundesliga for one year , while the men played in the fourth-class regional league for eleven years .

history

Women

Nothing is known about the founding of the women's team. In 1990 the Brackweder women qualified for the relegation to the Bundesliga for the first time, but failed there at the 1. Hennefer EC Bonn and the DEC Eishasen Berlin . A year later Brackwede reached the relegation again and failed at the Frankfurt ESC and the 1st Hennef EC Bonn. Finally, the team made it to the Bundesliga in 1992 when the team together with the Herner EV prevailed against Eintracht Braunschweig and the DEC Eishasen Berlin.

In the Bundesliga season 1992/93 , the Brackweder were penultimate, but managed to stay in the league in the following relegation round. However, the club withdrew the team from the Bundesliga for unknown reasons. After several years at the state level, the Brackweders made it to the 2nd Bundesliga North in 2002. There the team was runner-up several times. In 2005 the ETC Crimmitschau was ahead, a year later the mosquitoes were eating . In the end, the Brackweder women became champions of the 2nd Bundesliga North in 2008, but they did not get promoted. A year later another runner-up followed, this time behind the 1b team of the Bergkamener Bären .

The 2008/09 season brought the Teuton women their second championship in the 2nd Bundesliga North. But like two years earlier, the club refrained from promotion to the Bundesliga. As a result, the successful team broke up and the club slipped back into the mediocrity of the league. In 2013 the team had to be canceled because the club did not have enough players. The remaining players then switched to local rivals TSVE Bielefeld .

Men

The men's team of SV Brackwede rose to the 1979/80 season in the fourth-class Regionalliga West. After several years in the midfield of the league, the Teutons moved to the Regionalliga Nord in 1984 . At the end of the season, the Brackweder moved into the qualifying round for the Oberliga Nord after the ERC Westphalia Dortmund stopped playing. There, however, the team had no chance and only managed one draw. The Brackweder returned to the western group and played against relegation in the following years. In 1989 , the Teutons finally relegated to the national association after the team only finished last in both the regular season and in the qualifying round.

Two years later, the Brackwedern managed to rise again to the Regionalliga West, which, however, was followed by direct relegation. In the meantime slipped into the state league, the Teutons belonged to the Association League NRW from 2003. From this, the Brackweder rose in 2007 and remained without points during the entire season. Before the start of the season, the team had lost some top performers to local rivals Herford EV . Two years later, he was relegated to the district league, the lowest division. There the team became champions and also won the national league cup , but renounced promotion.

In 2012, the district league championship followed again, when the Teutons were able to prevail in the final against ESC Kristall Lippstadt . Again, the ascent was waived. In 2014, the Brackweder rose to the NRW League, but returned to the district league after being relegated immediately.

The club was unable to provide a team between 2018 and 2020, but then returned to the district league.

Stages

The SV Brackwede initially played in the inner-city Deliuseisbahn on Werner-Bock-Straße. The stadium was closed and demolished in the early 2000s. Today the team play on the Oetker ice rink in the Brackwede district. The ice surface there is completely covered, but the facility is open on all sides.
