The EHC Troisdorf (officially: Ice Hockey Club Troisdorf eV ) is an ice hockey club from Troisdorf in the Rhein-Sieg-Kreis , which stands in the tradition of the ice hockey clubs from Hennef - the 1st Hennef EC Bonn and the Hennef EC Rhein-Sieg - and the Nicknamed Dynamite . This nickname was chosen because the city of Troisdorf grew up through various companies that manufactured explosives. But it has nothing directly to do with the Troisdorf-based Dynamit Nobel.

history

From 1981 to 1982 an ice rink with a tent roof was built in Hennef . As a result, the 1st Hennef EC Bonn was founded in 1983. In addition to the senior team, the club also had a women's team, which began playing in 1985. In the 1986/87 season , the young club managed to qualify for the Regionalliga West. However, this was not decided on a sporting basis, but afterwards at the green table . In the next four years the EC Bonn was able to improve steadily and finally reached the qualification for the league at the end of the 1991/92 season .

The women's team played in the Bundesliga North for the 1990/91 season . In the summer of 1991 the first team moved to Troisdorf to host the game. Only two years later, after the 1992/93 season, the 1st Hennefer EC then had to file for bankruptcy and then stop playing.

The successor club, the Hennef EC Rhein-Sieg, was founded in the same year. With this foundation, the return of the home games of the 1st team to Hennef was connected. In its first season, 1994/95 , the club was allowed to start in what was then the third highest German league, the second division . The also newly founded (old team) women's team was initially active in the Landesliga West. After the women's team played a successful main round in 1994/95 and then qualified for the promotion round to the women's ice hockey Bundesliga , the game was stopped in the summer of 1995. Up to this point in time four players had been appointed to the women's national team - Siegrid Buchener , Ingke Schumacher , Monika Zils and Ellen Lamers .

The first senior team played from the 1999/00 season in the Landesliga NRW. After the 2002/2003 season, the Hennef ice rink was closed and ultimately demolished. This was followed by a complete move of the association to Troisdorf . There a GmbH took over the Karthalle Troisdorf and converted it into an ice rink. This was then the new venue of the Hennef EC Rhein-Sieg, which was then renamed to today's EHC Troisdorf. The first season of the EHC Troisdorf was sporty successful, so the club made it to the Regionalliga-NRW.

The most successful season was the 2006/07 season , when the team qualified with a fifth place for the promotion to the league. In the 2009/10 season , the EHC Troisdorf again took part in the fourth-class Regionalliga-NRW. The main round ended in tenth place. In the subsequent Regional League Cup, first place and thus the title win could be secured.

In the 2010/11 season, the men's team will play again in the Regionalliga West. By dissolving the first team in summer 2011, the club registered a team in the NRW League for the coming 2011/12 season that consists of players from the former second team.

This team won the NRW Cup in the 2012/2013 season.
