Frank Burchot (born April 17, 1966 ) is a former German ice hockey player .

Career

Burchot began his career at Herner EV , where he played in the 2nd Bundesliga between 1984 and 1988 . After the relegation of the Herner, he played for a year with the regional league team Herford EG before moving on to league rivals ESC Ahaus . With Ahaus he rose in 1990 to the Oberliga Nord . In 1991 he first returned to Herford, but already switched to ESC Wedemark during the season . In 1992 Burchot went to regional division EHC Salzgitter for two years before returning to NRW division Herford EC .

With the Herford EC in 1995, Burchot moved up to the third-class 2nd division north and managed to stay in the league in the 1995/96 season. For financial reasons, however, the club withdrew back into the NRW League. When the Herford team rose to the Oberliga Nord in 2000, Burchot moved to SV Brackwede from Bielefeld, but returned a year later after the Herford team had voluntarily withdrawn. When the Herford EC had to be dissolved due to bankruptcy in 2002, Burchot took a break.

Three years later, the successor club Herford EV started playing and in 2006 Burchot rose with his team in the association league. A year later he returned to SV Brackwede and played there in the lower divisions of North Rhine-Westphalia until his retirement in 2014. In the 2010/11 season, Burchot trained together with his long-time Herford teammate Peter Derksen for the SV Brackwede women's team in the 2nd Bundesliga North. Burchot has been a junior coach at Herford EV since 2016.
