1958: The Atomium during the World's Fair
  • 1958 : The first world exhibition since 1939 opens in Brussels . The Atomium , built for the occasion, becomes the city's landmark.
  • 1964 : The Grand Duchy of Luxembourg is at the Our the Vianden Pumped Storage Plant officially opened. It is the largest power plant of its kind in Europe.
  • 1973 : The US courier and logistics company Federal Express commences operations with 14 aircraft, which are currently used to serve 25 cities in the USA.
