Heidi Attenberger

Heidi Attenberger (born April 17, 1962 ) is a former German rower who twice became German champion in lightweight - one and took part in the rowing world championships in this boat class .

Attenberger first won a championship medal in 1982 when she was third in the women's singles. In 1985 she not only became German champion in the single, but also won the women's lightweight single, which was ridden for the second time that year. She is the only person who has both championship titles at the same time and the only person who could ever win both titles.

In the same year she was nominated in this boat class for the world championships in Hazewinkel , where she took fifth place in the first regular event of the lightweight single in the finals.

Also in 1986 she won the German championships in the easy single, while she reached second place in the open weight class. At the World Championships in Nottingham she came in sixth place in the lightweight single. Then Attenberger, who started for the Passau rowing club , ended her career.
