Katrin Rutschow-Stomporowski (born April 2, 1975 in Waren ) is a former German rower and two-time Olympic champion.

Rutschow started rowing at SC Berlin in 1989 . She was significantly influenced in her rowing technique by Peter Kotoll , her trainer from her youth. From 1997 Katrin started for the rowing club at Wannsee and was looked after by the coach Dieter Öhm and from 2002 by Jutta Lau . She ended her rowing career after the 2004 Athens Olympics .

For her sporting success she received the silver bay leaf on March 16, 2005 .

Rutschow studied fashion design at the Lette-Verein vocational school in Berlin and successfully completed her studies in 2001. On December 20, 1999, Katrin Rutschow married Bernhard Stomporowski , who was himself a successful rower, and has two children. Until 2007 she lived in Eglisau (Switzerland). She was employed by the Seeclub Zurich from 2005 to 2007 as a junior and senior trainer and led several teams to the title at the Swiss championships; She also looked after the Swiss lightweight - double foursome for the 2007 World Cup . From November 2007 to July 2008, Katrin worked and lived again in Potsdam as assistant coach to national coach Jutta Lau. After Jutta Lau left the German Rowing Association (DRV) in 2008, Rutschow-Stomporowski was hired by the DRV as a trainee, temporarily working in Potsdam. She has been a trainer at the Rowing Club Hamm since 2018.
