Cao Mianying

Cao Mianying ( Chinese  曹 棉 英 ; born June 19, 1967 in Haiyan County ) is a former Chinese rower .

Athletic career

Cao Mianying reached the final at the Olympic Games in Seoul in 1988 together with Guo Mei in a double scull and finished fifth. The following year, she won the silver medal at the 1989 World Championships with the Chinese four-man without a helmsman . In 1990 she finished fifth in eighth place . In 1991 Cao Mianying competed in two boat classes at the World Championships in Vienna . She took fourth place in the four without a helmsman and seventh place in eight. At the Olympic Games in Barcelona in 1992 , she reached the finals in both boat classes, she finished fourth in the four without a helmsman and fifth in the eighth.

1993 returned Cao Minyang from Sweep Rowing for Skull rowing back. At the 1993 World Championships in Račice u Štětí , she won together with Gu Xiaoli , Liu Xirong and Zhang Xiuyun in a double scull in front of the boats from Germany and the United States. In 1994 in Indianapolis , the German quadruple won ahead of Cao Mianying, Liu Xirong, Zhang Xiuyun and Zhao Guifeng . The following year Cao Minyang finished fifth in the double sculls and seventh in the double sculls at the World Championships in Tampere . Even with the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta Cao Minyang approached in two boat classes. In the double scull, Cao Mianying and Zhang Xiuyun won silver behind Canadians Kathleen Heddle and Marnie McBean . One day later, Cao Mianying, Zhang Xiuyun, Liu Xirong and Gu Xiaoli took fifth place in the double fours, less than a second behind the second placed Ukrainians. In 2001, the 1.76 m tall Cao Minyang was once again in the finals at the World Championships in Lucerne and took fifth place in the four without a helmsman.

Cao Mianying won the single finals at the 1994 Asian Games .
