Nicole Beukers

Nicole Beukers (born October 7, 1990 in Leiderdorp ) is a Dutch rower .

Athletic career

Nicole Beukers started rowing in 2004. At the Junior World Championships in 2007 she finished fifth with the Dutch eighth , and the following year she was eighth with the double foursome . In 2010, the 1.69 m tall Nicole Beukers rowed to eighth place in the single at the U23 World Championships , followed by fifth place in 2011, and only tenth in 2012.

In 2013 Nicole Beukers switched to the double foursome , which won the silver medal behind the German boat at the 2013 European Championships in the line-up of Wianka van Dorp , Sophie Souwer , Lisa Scheenaard and Nicole Beukers . At the 2013 World Championships , Scheenaard, Chantal Achterberg , Souwer and Beukers took fourth place. The following year she competed in a double scull with Inge Janssen . At the European Championships in 2014 , the two achieved third place, in front of a home crowd the two took seventh place at the World Championships in Amsterdam . In 2015, the Dutch quadruple with Nicole Beukers, Chantal Achterberg, Inge Janssen and Carline Bouw won the silver medal at the European Championships , and at the 2015 World Championships the double quad won the bronze medal. Beukers and the Dutch quadruple started the 2016 Olympic season with fourth place at the European Championships . At the 2016 Olympic Games , the Dutch women won the silver medal behind the German double four.

The Dutch quadruple with Olivia van Rooijen , Inge Janssen, Sophie Souwer and Nicole Beukers also won silver at the 2017 European Championships . In the preparatory regattas for the Rowing World Cup 2017, the quartet crossed the finish line behind the Polish four, but was able to overtake them in the finish sprint at the World Championships and thus secure the world title. In 2018 Olivia van Rooijen, Karolien Florijn , Sophie Souwer and Nicole Beukers won the bronze medal at both the European and World Championships . In 2019, Beukers did not return to the Dutch four-four until the end of the season. In the line-up of van Rooijen, Janssen, Souwer and Beukers, the crew won bronze at the world championships in Linz behind the Chinese and Polish women.
