Maria Springwald (born July 30, 1991 in Krakow ) is a Polish rower .

Maria Springwald started rowing in 2004. At the U23 World Championships in 2012 she reached fourth place with the Polish double scull , and the following year she won the silver medal. In the same year she finished fifth at the 2013 European Championships with the double foursome. In the following year, the Polish double- scull won the bronze medal at the European Championships in Belgrade with Agnieszka Kobus , Maria Springwald, Joanna Dittmann and Monika Ciaciuch . At the 2014 World Championships , the four-man with Sylwia Lewandowska , Joanna Leszczyńska , Springwald and Kobus took eighth place. In 2015, the Polish double scull with Kobus, Leszczyńska, Springwald and Ciaciuch won bronze at the European Championships in front of a home crowd in Poznan. With fourth place at the 2015 World Championships, the Polish double scull qualified for the 2016 Summer Olympics. The Polish double scull started the Olympic season with the same line-up as last year with a victory at the Rowing World Cup in Varese. At the European Championships in 2016 , the Polish women won the silver medal behind the German boat. At the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, the Polish double scull won the bronze medal.

Springwald also rowed in the Polish quad scull in the new Olympic cycle. The quartet of Agnieszka Kobus, Marta Wieliczko , Springwald and Katarzyna Zillmann dominated the Rowing World Cup with three individual wins, but only finished fourth at the European Championships . At the end of the season succeeded behind the Dutch selection of winning the silver medal at the World Championships in Florida. In 2018, the Polish double scull won the title at the European Championships in Glasgow with the same line-up as last year . A month and a half later, the Polish quadruple also won the title at the World Championships in Plovdiv . In 2019, the Polish quadruple finished fourth at the European Championships in Lucerne. Three months later, the Chinese women won the World Championships in Linz ahead of the Polish defending champions.
