Anastasia Mykolajiwna Koschenkowa ( Ukrainian Анастасія Миколаївна Коженкова * 19th January 1986 in Kovel ) is a Ukrainian rower , which together with Kateryna Tarasenko , Natalija Dowhodko and Yana Dementieva in 2012 the gold medal in quadruple sculls won and the first rowing Olympic gold medal for Ukraine to realized the collapse of the Soviet Union .

Athletic career

Anastassija Koschenkowa won the silver medal in the quadruple scull at the 2004 Junior World Championships . In 2007 she finished sixth in the single at the U23 World Championships , in 2008 she was fifth in the double scull . Koshenkowa experienced her breakthrough in the adult class in 2009. At the end of August 2009, the Ukrainian quadruple with Switlana Spirjuchowa , Tetjana Kolesnikowa , Anastassija Koschenkowa and Jana Dementjewa won the World Championships in Poznan . Three weeks later, the four Ukrainians also won the European Championships in Brest, Belarus. In September 2010, Kateryna Tarassenko, Olena Burjak , Anastassija Koschenkowa and Jana Dementjewa won the European Championships in Montemor, Portugal. It was not until the World Championships , which took place on Lake Karapiro in New Zealand at the beginning of November , that the winning streak of the Ukrainian double foursome, who fought for the silver medal behind the British women, broke. In 2011 Anastassija Koschenkowa and Jana Dementjewa rowed together in double sculls. After finishing fourth at the World Championships , the two won the title at the European Championships . In 2012 the Ukrainian four-four achieved a flawless record, three victories in the World Cup followed by the Olympic victory on Dorney Lake .

After a break in 2013, Anastassija Koshenkowa and Olena Buryak took part in a double scull at the 2014 World Championships , where the two finished tenth. At the European Championships in 2016 , both won the bronze medal with the Ukrainian double scull. In the final of the 2016 Olympic Games , the Ukrainian double scull with Daryna Verkhohljad , Olena Burjak, Anastassija Koshenkowa, and Yevhenija Nimtschenko took fourth place.

After a weaker year in 2017, the Ukrainian double scull won the silver medal behind the Polish women at the 2018 European Championships with Daryna Verkhohljad, Olena Burjak, Anastassija Koschenkowa and Ievgeniia Dovhodko .
