Jane Robinson (rower)

Jane Robinson (born December 12, 1969 in Cobden , Victoria ) is a former Australian rower .

The 1.83 m tall Jane Robinson competed in the 1996 Olympic Games in double fours and finished ninth. At the 1997 World Championships she reached the A-final and finished sixth in the double scull . Robinson won her first international medal at the 1998 World Championships in Cologne . Together with Marina Hatzakis , Sally Newmarch and Bronwyn Roye , she received bronze in the quad sculls. The following year, Robinson finished eleventh with the Australian quadruple at the 1999 World Championships .

In the Olympic season 2000 Robinson started in the Australian eighth , at the Olympic Games in Sydney the eighth of the host country reached the fifth place. In 2001 Jane Robinson rowed together with Julia Wilson , Jo Lutz and Victoria Roberts in the four without helmsman to the world title. In the world championship final in Lucerne , the Australians were just over a second ahead of the New Zealanders. The four rowers also competed with the eighth and also won the title in this boat class ahead of the boats from Romania and Germany. At the 2002 World Championships , Jane Robinson only entered eighth and fought for the silver medal behind the US eighth, nine hundredths of a second behind the Australians, the German women's eighth received the bronze medal. In 2003 Robinson returned to the double fours. Together with Dana Faletic , Kerry Hore and Amber Bradley , she won the world title at the World Championships in Milan . At the age of 34, Jane Robinson took part in her third Olympic Games in Athens in 2004 and finished ninth in the double scull with Donna Martin .
