Esther Lofgren (born February 28, 1985 in Long Beach ) is an American rower and two-time world champion in eight .

Life

Lofgren started rowing in 1998. In 2006 she won the US eighth at the U23 World Championships . At the World Rowing Championships in 2006 , she won the bronze medal in the four-man without helmsman together with Portia McGee , Erin Cafaro and Rachel Jeffers . In 2007 she won the U23 World Championships with a double scull . In 2008 Lofgren won the World Cup regatta in Lucerne with the US eighth. The majority of the crew won the Olympic gold medal at the Beijing Olympics ; the non-nominated Lofgren instead took part in the four without at the world championships in the non-Olympic boat classes and won the silver medal together with Karen Colwell , Stesha Carle and Sarah Trowbridge .

In 2011 the American eighth defended the title at the World Championships in Bled with Zsuzsanna Francia and Caroline Lind for Glessner and Goodale . Lofgren also rowed in the US eight at the Olympic Games in London , who won the gold medal with Erin Cafaro , Zsuzsanna Francia, Esther Lofgren, Taylor Ritzel, Meghan Musnicki, Elle Logan, Caroline Lind, Caryn Davies and Mary Whipple.
