Sarah Heard

Sarah Heard (born October 4, 1983 in Ballarat ) is an Australian rower . In 2005 she was world champion.

Heard started rowing in 1998. After finishing fifth at the U23 World Regatta in 2004, Heard moved up to eighth in Australia in 2005 . The boat won the World Cup in Munich and the 2005 World Rowing Championships in Gifu, and the boat won the world championship title with Sarah Tait , Robyn Selby Smith , Sonia Mills , Kate Hornsey , Emily Martin , Fleur Chew , Pauline Frasca , Sarah Heard and Taxwoman Elizabeth Patrick .

At the Rowing World Championships in Eton in 2006 , Heard competed in two boat classes: with Emily Martin she finished ninth in a two-man without a helmsman, and with eighth Heard and Martin won the bronze medal. After finishing fourth in eighth at the 2007 World Rowing Championships in Munich, the boat took sixth place at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing . In 2010 at the World Championships in New Zealand , Sarah Heard won a silver medal with the four-man without helmsman along with Sarah Cook , Pauline Frasca and Kate Hornsey.
