In 1993 Dana Pyritz won her first German championship title in eighth place, at the world championship eighth took third place. The German eighth was even more successful in the 1994 season. At the World Championships in Indianapolis, the boat won with the cast of Kathrin Haacker, Antje Rehaag , Andrea Klapheck , Dana Pyritz, Doreen Martin , Micaela Schmidt , Stefani Werremeier , Ute Wagner and helmswoman Doreen Schnell . In 1995 Pyritz and Doreen Martin switched to the four-man without a helmsman , the two of them won the German championship with Heike Zazworka and Andrea Gesch, at the World Championships in Tampere they took second place behind the four-man from the USA with Anke Weiler and Gerte John.

Since the four-man had been taken out of the Olympic program in 1996 in favor of the lightweight classes, Dana Pyritz tried to return to eighth for the Olympic season. At the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta, she sat in the boat with her twin sister Anja Pyritz , but the eighth only reached the B final and finished eighth in the final bill. The two twins won the German championship eighth in 1997 and 1998, but it wasn't until 2001 that they won an international medal again. At the World Championships in Lucerne, the German eighth won the bronze medal with the Pyritz sisters, and the eighth repeated this medal success in Seville in 2002. In 2003 Dana Pyritz switched again to the four without a helmsman and also won bronze in this boat class at the World Championships in Milan.
