Erin Cafaro
Erin Cafaro (born June 9, 1983 in Modesto ) is an American rower , she was Olympic champion in eighth and world champion in three different boat classes.
Cafaro began rowing at the University of California in 2001 . In 2005 she won the U23 World Championships with the four-man without a helmsman . In 2006 she rowed the US eighth at the World Cup in Lucerne to second place, at the World Championships in Eton she won the bronze medal in the four without helmsman together with Portia McGee , Esther Lofgren and Rachel Jeffers . In 2007 she rowed her eighth in Lucerne, her first World Cup victory. At the World Championships in Munich , she was back in the foursome without, the one with Portia McGee, Erin Cafaro, Rachel Jeffers and Megan Dirkmaatwon the world title. After the eighth victory in the World Cup in Lucerne in 2008, Cafaro stayed in the US eighth for the Olympic Games in Beijing , with Erin Cafaro, Lindsay Shoop , Anna Goodale , Elle Logan , Anna Cummins , Zsuzsanna Francia , Caroline Lind , Caryn Davies and Taxwoman Mary Whipple received the gold medal.
In 2009, Erin Cafaro started in two boat classes at the World Cup in Lucerne: with eighth she took second place, in two without helmsman she finished fifth with Mara Allen . At the World Championships in Poznan she won with Zsuzsanna Francia in two without, both were also in the successful eight. In 2010 Cafaro only competed in eighth at the World Cup in Lucerne, otherwise she rowed with Francia in an uncontrolled two-man. At the 2010 World Championships on New Zealand's North Island, the two finished third. In 2011 Erin Cafaro won again with eighth in Lucerne, but did not take part in the World Championships. In 2012, Cafaro rowed in the first two World Cup regattas together with Elle Logan in a double to second place behind the Britons Helen Glover and Heather Stanning . At the Olympic Games in London , Cafaro was back in the US eighth, who won the gold medal in the line-up of Erin Cafaro, Zsuzsanna Francia, Esther Lofgren , Taylor Ritzel , Meghan Musnicki , Elle Logan, Caroline Lind, Caryn Davies and Mary Whipple.
