Gia Doonan

Gia Doonan (born June 30, 1994 in Rochester , Massachusetts ) is an American rower .

Gia Doonan rowed both in the four without helmsman and in the eight at the U23 World Championships in 2016 and won the title in both boat classes. In 2017 she was a substitute rower at the World Championships , but was not used.

At the 2018 World Cup in Lucerne, Doonan also competed in the four and eight and finished in third place. Doonan also rowed in two boat classes at the World Championships in Plovdiv . Together with Victoria Opitz , she took ninth place in the two without a helmsman . With the US eighth, Opitz and Doonan won ahead of the Canadians and Australians. In 2019 Gia Doonan only rowed eighth at the World Championships in Linz and won bronze behind the boats from New Zealand and Australia.
